TOMAS HAAKE Says MESHUGGAH Has The Most Dedicated Fans In The World

MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"Tomas here, just wanted to drop you guys a short note and say thanks for being the greatest fans in the world!

"It seems my name oozed its way into the Modern Drummer and Drum! readers' polls — metal category.

"This is not so much due to recorded efforts, but more an indication of how strong and dedicated your fans are! Getting your name in the top five of that poll is more commonly something exclusive to top-selling, chart music acts. So the reason my name is in there, is simply because you guys are greater than all else!

"We thank you sincerely for being the most dedicated, die-hard, persistent fans a band could possibly ask for!!!"

MESHUGGAH's most recent release, the "I" EP, was issued in the U.S. through Fractured Transmitter Records, the label formed by former MUSHROOMHEAD vocalist Jason Mann. The one-song CD, which reportedly clocks in at 21-minutes, is described by the label as a "mind-bending aural assault … [that] is sure to send shock waves throughout the metal community." MESHUGGAH's next full-length effort, "Catch 33", is not expected before early next year. The group's last album, "Nothing", came out in 2002.
